EXTRA-CURRICULAR PROGRAM
MUSIC PROGRAM
Each school year, LEPA’s music teacher organizes a Winter and/or Spring Program where every class gets to showcase what they’ve been learning during weekly music instruction. These performances are for all our families to enjoy. The event is so popular that it’s held off-campus to accommodate everyone. All LEPA families are warmly invited and encouraged to attend and celebrate our scholars’ hard work! In addition, 6th and 7th grade students have the opportunity to take piano and guitar lessons, and actively participate in the music program, enriching their musical skills and experiences.
ENRICHMENT
On Thursdays from 2:45 to 3:45 pm, scholars in 1st through 7th grade have the opportunity to join enrichment classes. Class offerings change each semester and include options such as Sign Language, Discovery (Science) Club, Math Snacks, Computer Club, Fitness, and for 6th and 7th graders specifically, Sports, Student Council, Theater, and STEM. This enriching experience is highly enjoyed by scholars and helps them thrive. LaVerne Elementary Preparatory Academy encourages all scholars to stay on Thursdays to participate.
ACADEMIC EVENTS
LaVerne Elementary Preparatory Academy offers a variety of academic events for scholars to engage in, including:
- Science Expo (TK-7th grade)
- Spelling Bee (K-7th grade)
- Battle of the Books Reading Competition (Grades 3-7)
These events provide fantastic opportunities for scholars to challenge themselves and showcase their skills.
STEM
Our upper campus is proud to offer a dynamic and future-focused STEM program designed to inspire innovation, creativity, and critical thinking in our students. Through an exciting partnership with Amazon, scholars will engage with a professional-grade coding curriculum that introduces them to real-world programming concepts in a meaningful and accessible way. This program emphasizes hands-on, project-based learning, allowing scholars to actively apply their knowledge in ways that are both educational and fun.
In addition to coding, scholars will explore the world of 3D design using CAD software and bring their creations to life with 3D printing technology. These tools not only build technical skills but also encourage collaboration, problem-solving, and design thinking. By integrating cutting-edge technology with interactive learning experiences, our STEM program prepares our scholars for the challenges of tomorrow while cultivating a deep interest in science, technology, engineering, and math. We are committed to equipping our scholars with the knowledge and confidence to succeed in an ever-evolving, tech-driven world.
