  • Ms. Wanda Wilburn
    Ms. Wanda Wilburn Board Member

Wanda Wilburn is an OB/Gyn Physician with 27 years of experience in Women’s Healthcare. She has served as President of the Board at LaVerne Elementary Preparatory Academy, focusing on mentoring young minorities interested in medicine. Inspired by the lack of female and African American physicians, her medical journey began at age 10. Ms. Wilburn earned her bachelor’s degree from UCLA and worked as a Primary Care Physician Assistant for 12 years before attending UCI Medical School at age 35. She completed her OB/Gyn specialty training at Emory School of Medicine and trained residents at Morehouse School of Medicine. Ms. Wilburn opened a practice in the High Desert, becoming the only female OB/Gyn in the area. She has also served on the Board of St. Mary’s Hospital and as Department Chair of the OB/Gyn department. Ms. Wilburn remains active in community efforts to reduce maternal mortality.

  • Ms. Kristine Loescher
    Ms. Kristine Loescher Board Member

Kristine Loescher grew up in the High Desert and has been an active community member. She has been involved in various community service projects. She stays aware of community actions by attending city council meetings. Mrs. Loescher earned an LVN in 2009. Mrs. Loescher is married with three children, all of whom have attended LEPA. She continues to participate in school events as often as possible. Mrs. Loescher has a passion for continuing the fine tradition of LEPA, maintaining adherence to the school’s mission, and supporting LEPA’s continued efforts to maintain high standards of success for all its scholars.

  • Ms. Eartha Johnson

Eartha Johnson is a dedicated higher education administrator with over 23 years of experience in fostering student success through innovative programming and strategic partnerships.

Eartha has a Master’s in Social Work from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s in Sociology from UCLA. She is a visionary leader who brings expertise in strategic planning, budget management, and community engagement to her role as a board member. Her collaborative and equity-minded approach ensures that educational policies and practices align with the diverse needs of students and families.

  • Mr. Dakota Weldon
    Mr. Dakota Weldon Board Member

Dakota Weldon is a lifelong resident of the High Desert and a proud product of local charter schools. His journey in education began in 2018 as a paraprofessional, where he gained valuable experience working with various special education programs throughout the region.

Mr. Weldon holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Eastern Oregon University and earned his Education Specialist teaching credential through the Riverside County Office of Education. He currently serves as the lead special education teacher at Excelsior Charter Schools, his alma mater, where he is dedicated to empowering students to reach their full potential.

A passionate advocate for charter schools, Mr. Weldon is committed to fostering a dynamic and inclusive learning environment. As a leader in special education, he works collaboratively with educators, families, and the community to develop innovative strategies that support student success. Through his leadership, he strives to inspire both students and colleagues, ensuring that all learners have the resources and guidance needed to thrive academically and personally.
